Being involved in the Mustang hobby for many years, Ron and Steve both felt that of all the American cars produced, the Ford Mustang was the most deserving to have a museum in it's honor. They felt it was a shame that after 50 years of continuous production and millions produced, there was not a place where Mustang enthusiasts from all over the world could come and enjoy the Mustang in a museum setting.
